My name is Dr Emma Scriven (BHSc CM, Grad Dip. CCM, Dip. Massage & Cert. Auriculotherapy).
I am the owner and operator of Healesville Chinese Medicine and since 2014 I have been providing quality Chinese Medicines and Acupuncture to my community.
I hope I can help you too.
Let me tell you how the clinic is operating during Melbourne's Stage 4 Restrictions
(which include Healesville):
At the beginning of August, the Victorian Government announced that all patients attending the clinic for routine Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine require a written GP referral or are otherwise cancelled.
There are exceptions so please read the following carefully:
If you are in such distress mentally or physically (for example severe pain) that you would consider presenting to a specialist or emergency department, then you DO NOT require a GP referral for your treatment and distance from your residence is not limited.
Please call me on 59621097 immediately if you feel this applies to you now, or at any time during the Stage 4 Restrictions. I will do my upmost diligence to help you in any way I can.
Otherwise, this is understandably a frustrating situation for all involved, but until a change to this recommendation is made, this is what is required to attend the clinic for treatment.
There is now also extensive administration work involved just to have patients on site, as well as upgraded PPE required, so your understanding on this is always appreciated.
Until such time that the restrictions are eased back, I will be offering:
Telehealth (video) and phone consultations with herbal medicine prescriptions, for pick-up, postage, or delivery (within reason), on Mondays and Saturdays.
Accepting requests of herbal medicine prescription repeats by email, text message and phone.
I understand that this way of practicing is dramatically different to experiencing a session with me, given the difference in care I can provide when we have face-to-face time, pulse reading and the therapeutic benefits always enjoyed with the Acupuncture and Cupping treatments, but to touch base with you whether by phone or video calls is the best possible solution for the moment.
Costs: if finances are a concern for you at this time, please still get in touch and let's talk about the options available for you.
Do you have a voucher? I have removed the expiry period for all vouchers, so you can use any voucher you possess, at any time in the future, regardless of the valid date.
I understand that life has changed dramatically in recent months, but your health is still my priority. Your treatments should not cease, in fact you can be doing more now than ever to utilise Chinese herbal medicines to help prevent and reduce severity of any illnesses.
