My name is Dr Emma Scriven (BHSc CM, Grad Dip. CCM, Dip. Massage & Cert. Auriculotherapy).
I am the owner and operator of Healesville Chinese Medicine and since 2014 I have been providing quality Chinese Medicines and Acupuncture to my community.
I hope I can help you too.
Let me tell you how the clinic is operating at the moment, as we slowly emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic:
In regards to how your consultation and treatment will proceed, it's mostly back to usual.
This means you book your appointment online or over the phone, then you attend your appointment as usual. No need to wait in the car or have a phone consultation first, as my reception area is big enough to accommodate several patients and staff for ample physical distancing.
If you are concerned about attending the clinic and would prefer a video or phone consultation, these will continue to be offered indefinitely. Although they are not able to be booked via online bookings, so please call the clinic directly.
So what's changed?
When you arrive for your appointment, you are expected to disinfect your hands with the provided sanitiser; read and sign a new agreement in which you take responsibility for informing me of any health changes that may mean you are at risk of suffering from or spreading COVID-19; then you'll need to follow some new procedures:
I will guide you to your treatment room, you will place your personal items on the chair or table provided, wash your hands in the room and then relax! I will then meet you in the room, wearing a surgical face mask, which is only necessary while in close proximity, and yes, I have been appropriately trained on using face masks effectively.
Still have concerns about attending your appointment?
I am taking more precautions than ever to ensure the safety of all patients and staff.
All door handles, railings, common surfaces, treatment tables and hand basins are cleaned with a bleach solution between each patient visit.
In both March and April, I also completed the government provided, online COVID-19 training module for health professionals on infection control, and stay up to date with daily checks of the health department web pages.
Costs: if finances are a concern for you at this time, please still get in touch and let's talk about the options available for you.
Do you have a voucher? I have removed the expiry period for all vouchers, so you can use any voucher you possess, at any time in the future, regardless of the valid date.
I understand that life has changed dramatically in recent months, but your health is still my priority. Your treatments should not cease, in fact you can be doing more now than ever to utilise Chinese herbal medicines to help prevent and reduce severity of any illnesses.
